Among the activities this week, are the following:
July 15, 2008 – Ernest Hemingway (granson) Book Signing and Reception
From 5:30 – 7pm at Blue Heaven, 729 Thomas Street, Hemingway’s grandson will have a free signing of his children’s book “Bump in the Night”.
July 16 – 19, 2008 – Drambuie Key West Marlin Tournament
In honor of Hemingway, an avid fisherman, this tournament takes place in the very waters that Hemingway fished.
July 16, 2008 – Wyland Galleries presents Lorain Hemingway (granddaughter)
At 8pm, Lorian Hemingway will perform readings along with writers Don Kincaid, Jeffrey Cardenas, and Cricket Desmairis at 623 Duval Street. Attendance is without charge.
July 17, 2008 – ‘Storm Surge’ Premiere
Hubert Grissom, a Southern Playright and Hemingway student, will premiere his comedy-drama play at the Red Barn Theatre at 8pm on 319 Duval Street.
July 18, 2008 – Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition Awards Ceremony
Hemingway’s granddaughter, Lorian, hosts an awards ceremony at Casa Antigua at 8pm at 314 Simonton Street. The winning short story will be read.
